"Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back— Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now." Hide

"An Artists' Retreat with Anna Rhodes gave me more than I could have hoped for. At a time when I was loosing my purpose, she gave me a direction and a daily routine to reactivate my passion for creating art. Along with many other participants, of Anna's retreats,I am now one of Anna's followers. Thank you, Anna for giving me confidence to once again create art. I have a BA in fine art, but had lost my focus to making a living. I was looking for a direction and a way back to my art. I was impressed with the description of the retreat but was unfamiliar with the medium being introduced. Anna's enthusiasm and knowledge was infectious. In a matter of a few days she provided me with a good working knowledge of new materials. She exposed me to artists and paintings I was unfamilar with and reminded me of the how important it is to have a supportive community when creating art. Cavallo Point is a historic lodge set in a beautiful park overlooking the San Francisco Bay. My room, had an incredible view of the bay, the forest and the Golden Gate Bridge. The amenities of the room and the service are outstanding. Cavallo Point and their staff went out of their way to create a studio for the retreat. The food was a work of art and the wait staff was impecable. I have a disability which required special accomodations. The staff not only provided me with everything I needed, they continued to check with me to verify that I was comfortable. I am passing this location on to a travel agent friend as a recommended destination." Hide
